Ronaldo Deaconu was one of the best players of Gaz Metan Mediaș in the first part of the 2021/22 season. His name was on everybody’s lips back in October when he scored two stunning long shot goals against Dinamo Bucharest from very similar positions.
As the team struggles with serious financial issues, Deaconu revealed in a TV Show that he had to sell his car to pay some of his debts as the club wasn’t able to pay any salary in the past 5 months.
Deaconu’s teammates are in the same situation or worse. Bryan Alceus, a 25-year-old Haitian international midfielder complained that he hasn’t seen any money in the past 5 months and before the winter holidays he was not able to fly home to see his family for Christmas and New Year as the club told him they cannot buy the flight ticket. Meanwhile Bryan Alceus left Gaz Metan and is currently looking for a new team.
Ronaldo Deaconu has been chosen “Player of the Year” by the fans.
