The Romanian Cup promises excitement and upsets once again, offering a unique opportunity for lower league teams to face top-tier opponents and test their strength in an important competitive context.

The Romanian Football Federation announced on Thursday, August 8, 2024, the match schedule for the 3rd Round of the Romanian Cup, 2024-2025 edition. The matches will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, August 14 and 15, starting at 5:30 PM, with the exception of the Corvinul Hunedoara match, which is scheduled for August 21. The matches in this round will be played in a single, knockout stage, bringing into the competition all 14 clubs from Liga 2, which did not participate in the previous rounds.
Participating Teams
The 3rd Round of the Romanian Cup will feature 48 teams, divided into 24 matches. These teams include 34 teams qualified from the 2nd Round, among which are two teams from Liga 4, and 14 teams from Liga 2, who are entering the competition at this stage. Eight of these Liga 2 teams will face each other, while other matches will feature teams from different leagues:
- 13 matches will pit Liga 2 teams against Liga 3 teams.
- Five matches will feature clashes between Liga 3 teams.
- One match will see a Liga 2 team (CSM Slatina) facing a Liga 4 team (ACS Lupii Profa).
- In another match, a Liga 3 team (Bucovina Rădăuți) will play against a Liga 4 team (CSM Pașcani).
