The young midfielder’s rise to fame began last season, when he emerged as a crucial player for Universitatea Craiova. Despite not being the first-choice player at the start of the season, Matei worked his way up to become the team’s top performer, playing 36 matches and scoring five goals. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, and his coach, Pavel Badea, believes that he has the potential to become a top player in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
The Profile of a Future Star
Pavel Badea, the president of Universitatea Craiova, recently spoke about Matei’s potential, saying that he has the characteristics of a future star. “He’s a young player with great potential, and he has the characteristics that could make him a leader of the team,” Badea said in an interview. “He’s a modest and humble player, with a great attitude, and I have a very good image of him.” Badea believes that Matei has the potential to play in one of Europe’s top five leagues, and he thinks that Spain would be an ideal destination for the young midfielder.
Why Spain?
Badea believes that Spain would be a perfect fit for Matei, citing the country’s technical style of play as a key factor. “He’s a technical player, and he doesn’t have extraordinary physical qualities,” Badea explained. “I think he would struggle to adapt to the English or German style of play, which is more physical and demanding. But I think he would thrive in Spain, where the game is more technical and tactical.” Badea’s comments are a testament to the young midfielder’s potential, and it’s clear that he has a bright future ahead of him.
