Both Romanian teams playing in the 3rd preliminary round of Europa League lost their matches in the first leg and have almost no chance to go through.

Pandurii Targu Jiu 1-3 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Pandurii Targiu Jiu lost at home against Israeli team, Maccabi Tel Aviv with 3-1. Maccabi scored first in the 7th minute. Tal Ben Haim II put his name on the scoresheet first. The equalizer came from Ovidiu Herea in the 30 minute. Israeli took the lead 4 minutes after the break when Nigerian midfielder, Nosa Igiebor scored for 2-1. Till the final whistle, Dor Micha scored another goal for Maccabi in the 77 minute. It ended 3-1 and Maccabi Tel Aviv almost secured their presence in the Europa League Play-off.

KAA Gent 5-0 FC Viitorul
Unexperienced Viitorul lost any chance to qualify for the Europa League Play-off after 5-0 loss in Belgium against Gent. This was Hagi’s team first official international match in the club’s history. Unfortunately, for him and his team, the debut was as worse as it could get. Mitrovic opened the scored in the 16th minute, Coulibaly scored for 2-0 in the 37th minute. After the break, Coulibaly scored his second goal in the 50th minute. The third goal came in te 56th minute when Depoitre put his name on the scoresheet as well. Neto completed the humiliation for Viitorul in the 66th minute. Gent 5, Viitorul 0 is the biggest scored register in this Europa League round.
