Răzvan Sava, a 22-year-old Romanian goalkeeper, has officially joined Udinese, signing a four-year contract that will keep him at the Serie A club until the summer of 2028. The transfer was announced by Udinese, who described Sava as a “new, young, and very talented goalkeeper” on their official website.

Sava, who will wear the number 90 jersey at Udinese—the same number he wore at CFR Cluj—will compete for the starting position with Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who was the first-choice in Udinese’s 1-1 draw against Bologna, and Italian Marco Silvestri, who made 17 appearances last season.

In a brief video shared by Udinese, Sava expressed his excitement about the move, speaking in Italian: “Hello, guys! I’m Răzvan Sava. I’m very happy to be here. Forza Udinese!”

Sava’s familiarity with Italian football is extensive, having spent several years in Italy. He began his career at Pro Sesto Giovanili before moving on to Juventus U17 and U19, Pescara U19, and Torino U19, eventually making his senior debut with Torino. CFR Cluj signed him in January 2022, and now, they have earned approximately €2.5 million from his transfer to Udinese.

CFR Cluj also announced the transfer, noting that Sava is the second CFR goalkeeper to move to Serie A in the past year, following Simone Scuffet’s transfer. The club expressed gratitude for Sava’s contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors.
