Rapid Bucharest officially presented their new kits for the 2025/2026 season at an elegant event held on Monday, July 7th, just days before their SuperLiga opener against newly promoted FC Argeș on July 11th. The main attraction was the dramatic reveal of three distinct strips, each showcased in specially prepared glass cases before being unveiled to the public.
The home kit maintains Rapid’s traditional burgundy (“vișiniu”), while the first away jersey is white and the third kit is gray. Goalkeepers will wear orange jerseys, adding a fresh visual element to the team’s matchday attire. Among those in attendance were Victor Angelescu, Rapid’s minority shareholder and club president, as well as notable figures such as former Romania U21 coach Daniel Pancu, Vasile Maftei, Mihai Iosif, Daniel Sandu, and Ionuț Voicu.
Victor Angelescu addressed supporters before the presentation, emphasizing the importance of blending the club’s heritage with the present. “I want to thank everyone involved in organizing this event and for their hard work. We tried to merge the past with the present. I hope this jersey isn’t just a garment but something that will be remembered in history. I hope it’s the kit we win a championship or a cup in. I want fans to buy this jersey and keep it in their memories, so it remains part of our history,” Angelescu said.
Rapid’s players, including Alexandru Dobre and Denis Ciobotariu, modeled the new kits and shared their ambitions for the upcoming season. While fan reactions were mixed, with some expressing disappointment over the lack of secrecy around the home kit and similarities to rival Dinamo’s away strip, others praised the white kit and overall design.
The event was also notable for its media coverage: special broadcasts are scheduled on Digi Sport 1, including “Digi Sport Special” on Tuesday at 20:30 and “Liga Digisport” at 16:30. Rapid’s SuperLiga campaign kicks off away to FC Argeș on July 11th, followed by a home match against CFR Cluj on July 20th, both live on Digi Sport 1 at 21:30.
