Rapid Bucharest is currently in negotiations regarding the future of promising left-back Andrei Borza, with club president Victor Angelescu revealing a 75-80% likelihood that the 19-year-old will depart this summer. Borza, who joined Rapid two years ago from Farul Constanța for €800,000, has a release clause set at €4 million, which any interested club must meet to secure his transfer.

Angelescu confirmed that several clubs have expressed interest in Borza, including Serie A side Genoa, owned by Romanian businessman Dan Șucu. While negotiations are ongoing, Rapid maintains that they are not desperate to sell unless the clause is activated, underscoring Borza’s value to the team and their hope that he remains part of their squad.

In addition to transfer updates, Rapid unveiled their new kits for the 2025/2026 season, featuring a garnet home jersey, white away kit, and a grey third option, alongside an orange goalkeeper outfit. Angelescu emphasized the symbolic importance of the new kits, expressing aspirations that these uniforms will be associated with future trophies and memorable achievements for the club.

Borza is regarded as a rising talent in Romanian football, having already earned recognition in the Liga I Team of the Season for 2022–23 and participating with Romania’s U21 national team. His potential departure could mark a significant moment for Rapid, who will need to balance sporting ambitions with the financial realities of the transfer market.

This ongoing negotiation highlights Rapid’s strategic approach in managing their assets amid growing European interest, reflecting the club’s ambition to remain competitive domestically while nurturing young talent.
