Ricardo Sousa’s Petrolul Ploiești has made a statement in the Polish pre-season, delivering a 4-1 thrashing to Chojniczanka, an 8th-placed side in the third tier. This victory comes on the back of a 5-0 win over Lechia and a 1-4 loss to Olimpia Grudziądz in the Romanian club’s Polish training camp.

Pre-Season Progress

The Polish match saw Chojniczanka take an early lead through Hubert Sobol in the 16th minute, but Petrolul equalized through Adi Chică-Roșă in the 20th minute and took the lead just before half-time through David Paraschiv in the 38th minute. In the second half, Sousa’s team confirmed their dominance, adding two more goals through Jerdea (76) and Leo Teixeira (85), securing a convincing win.

Petrolul’s Squad Depth

The starting lineup for Petrolul included Zima, Ludewig, Zaian, Argeșanu, Dumitrescu, Vega, Dele, Manolache, Ioniță, Paraschiv, and Chică-Roșă, while the bench featured a strong reserve squad. Last Test Before the Season

Petrolul‘s next and final test in Poland will come against Arka, who finished 17th in the Polish top division last season and were relegated to the second tier.
