Carmen Bucuresti was a famous Romanian team back in the late 1930’s and 1940’s. The team was dissolved by the communist regime in 1947 and its place in the Romanian top flight has been taken by ASA Bucuresti (initial name of Steaua).
Carmen has now been revived after 70 years and currently plays in Romanian 4th league (Bucharest area). 2017/2018 is the first season after the team was re-founded and is now ranked 6th with 18 points after 10 matches.
Recently, Carmen Bucuresti officials came up with an interesting idea. They offer the chance to play against CSA Steaua in return of 1000 euro. Of course there are some conditions. You must first pass a medical test and then you will be enrolled in the team’s trainings. According to your level, you will have the chance to play against CSA Steaua.
Except the chance to play a 4th league match, you will also get a fully customised equipment (home and away t-shirt, training top and trousers and a bag), fully access to locker room before the match and to the bench during the match.
This is the most interesting season so far in the history of the 4th league, Bucharest area. Here is the reason why. There are important teams such as:
- CSA Steaua: Romanian Army’s team lead by Steaua legend, Marius Lacatus. Also the ultras fans are supporting the team in the 4th league.
- Academia Rapid: former legendary players such as Daniel Pancu, Daniel Nicolae, Constantin Schumacher, and others are playing are supporting the club. There were founded more Rapid teams but Academia won the auction to hold the record of the legendary team till further notice.
- CS FC Dinamo: former Dinamo Bucharest owner, Nicolae Badea runs the team and states that he holds the record of the legendary Dinamo team.
- Venus Bucuresti: legendary club with 8 titles, founded in 1915 and dissolved in 1948. The team was re-founded in 2014.
- CS Progresul 2005 and Progresul 1944 Spartac: after FC National relegated each season, some other teams revived the spirit. Team renamed to its legendary name, Progresul. Progresul Spartac (first team) managed to promote to 3rd league starting with the current season. In Liga4 there is playing the second team.
- Sportul Studentesc: although is started the season, the legendary team has been dissolved after financial issues. Gheorghe Hagi and other important former Romanian footballer played for Sportul.
The winner of Liga4 Bucharest will qualify for Liga3 Play-off. Current table:
