After 17 years as a Blue, the midfielder Lewis Baker is joining Championship side Stoke City this winter. He was one of the most promising talents from Chelsea’s Academy. However, over 9 seasons as a professional player, Lewis managed only 2 appearances for the Blues.
His debut was during the 2013-14 FA Cup match, when José Mourinho was the coach. The second and the last appearance was in the meeting vs Chesterfield, last Saturday.
A career with loans at 8 clubs and four countries, Stoke City manager Michael O’Neill says Baker is ready to settle and prove himself, because Baker deserves best, and hopefully this transfer can help Stoke City in their journey.
Lewis Baker has signed a permanent deal with Stoke City, bringing to an end his 17-year association with Chelsea.
Wishing you all the best for the future, @lew_baker. 🤝
