Former Chelsea player tries his luck in the Romanian top flight playing for a team struggling at the bottom of the table

Filipe Vilaça Oliveira started his professional football career at the age of 18 when Chelsea signed him up from Porto’s youth team for a total fee of half million pounds.

Unfortunately for him, his performance under Claudio Ranieri and Jose Mourinho was poor. In 4 years, he only played in 5 matches for The blues. He has been loaned to two teams during this time. First, to Preston North End and after to Maritimo in Portugal.

After finishing his contract with Chelsea in 2006, Oliveira played for Maritimo, Leixoes, Braga, Parma, Torino, Videoton and Anorthosis. Since the beginning of 2018, Filipe Vilaça Oliveira signed with Romanian side, ACS OSK Sepsi Sf. Gheorghe – a newly promoted team in Liga1.

ACS OSK Sepsi has promoted to Liga1 at the end of the 2016/17 season, after only 7 years since the club was founded. The team is currently ranked 12th.

NB: At the end of the regular season, the top 6 teams will qualify for the Play-Off while teams ranking 7 to 16 will play in the Play-Out – at the end of the Play-Out, the teams ranked on 13th and 14th will be relegated to Liga2 while, team team ranked 12th, will be playing a Play-off for Liga1 promotion with the team ranked 3rd from Liga2.
