Florin Manea, a prominent Romanian football agent, recently disclosed on Digi Sport the story behind bringing Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Caparco to Romania in 2010, and the lingering issue over unpaid commission related to the transfer. Manea revealed that he facilitated Caparco’s move to ASA Târgu Mureș with help from another Italian agent, Antonio Stina, who ultimately bypassed Manea regarding the commission fees, leaving Manea out of pocket by €15,000.
Manea recounted that the transfer was initiated when then-coach Sabău requested three players for Târgu Mureș, leading Manea to bring in Caparco, along with Issa Ba and Sosa. While Sosa’s tenure was brief due to injury and coaching decisions, Caparco proved to be an exceptional talent, impressing across Romanian clubs for over a decade, including stints at CSMS Iași and Concordia Chiajna. Manea emphasized Caparco’s quality, noting his background with Juventus and his consistent performances that were often underappreciated at the time.
The agent also shared his frustration about the financial aspect of the deal, explaining that Stina “burned” him by withholding the agreed commission. Manea has yet to receive the €15,000 owed and contrasted this with other dealings where he successfully secured payments. He underlined the importance of having trustworthy agents and high-caliber players for successful transfers.
After retiring in 2020, Caparco transitioned into a goalkeeping coach role, working with Romanian clubs such as FC Voluntari and Dinamo, continuing his football career off the pitch.
This revelation highlights ongoing challenges in agent collaborations and financial transparency in football transfers, underscoring the complexities behind player movements even at national league levels.
