In an exclusive interview on Digi Sport, renowned football agent Florin Manea recounted the story of how he facilitated Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Caparco’s transfer to Romanian club ASA Târgu Mureș in 2010, shedding light on the challenges and complexities behind the deal.

Manea explained that at the time, former Romanian international Sabău, then coach at Târgu Mureș, requested three players, leading Manea to bring Caparco, Issa Ba, and Sosa to the club. While Sosa initially struggled to break into the team, he later scored notable goals against top Romanian sides Rapid and Steaua (now FCSB). Caparco, described by Manea as an exceptional talent who impressed wherever he played, remained a consistent presence in Romanian football for approximately 15 years, featuring for clubs such as CSMS Iași and Concordia Chiajna before retiring in 2020.

The transfer was not without complications. Manea revealed that an Italian agent named Antonio Stina, involved in the transaction, bypassed him regarding commission payments, resulting in Manea still awaiting €15,000. Caparco himself recalled near contract cancellation episodes early on, highlighting the precarious nature of such moves. Manea emphasized the importance of trustworthy agents and praised Caparco’s pedigree, noting the goalkeeper was raised in Juventus’s youth academy and that he personally understands goalkeeper quality well.

Post-retirement, Caparco transitioned into coaching, taking up roles as a goalkeeping coach at FC Voluntari and Dinamo București, continuing his contribution to Romanian football beyond his playing days.

This revelation not only uncovers the intricate dynamics of player transfers involving foreign talents in Romania but also underscores the critical role agents play in shaping careers and the financial disputes that can arise behind the scenes.
