The Romanian top-flight club, Dinamo, has been busy in the transfer market this summer, and according to the club’s president, Andrei Nicolescu, they are not done yet. In a recent interview, Nicolescu revealed that they are still searching for several key players to strengthen their squad.
Targeted Positions and Priorities
Dinamo’s summer transfer strategy has been focused on bolstering their defensive line and midfield, with the acquisition of players like Martin Pascual (Mirandes) and Alaa Bellaarouch (Braga). However, Nicolescu has made it clear that they are not satisfied with the current level of competition in certain positions and are actively seeking to improve.
“We’re still looking for a more level-headed central defender than Pascual,” Nicolescu said in the interview. “We have a target in mind, but the players we’re interested in are still on vacation, and their clubs haven’t opened their offices yet.”
Midfield and Attack: The Next Priority
Dinamo’s midfield has been a key area of focus, with Nicolescu expressing a desire to add two central midfielders to their squad. Additionally, the club is also seeking to strengthen their attack by signing two new forwards.
“We’re also looking for two attacking players,” Nicolescu stated. “We’re not satisfied with the current level of competition in these positions, and we’re actively seeking to improve.”
The Challenge of Attracting Top Talent
One of the major challenges facing Dinamo in the transfer market is the competition from other top Romanian clubs like FCSB, Rapid, and CFR. According to Nicolescu, these clubs possess some of the best players in the country, but the financial constraints of Dinamo make it difficult to compete for their services.
“If we had top-quality Romanian players, we would have signed them by now,” Nicolescu said. “However, we don’t have the financial resources to compete with these clubs for the best talent.”
