Dinamo Bucharest is on the verge of finalizing the transfer of 22-year-old goalkeeper Rza Cafarov from Neftchi Baku, who has six caps for Azerbaijan’s senior national team. After initial negotiation hurdles, the deal now appears likely to be completed, bolstering Dinamo’s goalkeeping options under coach Zeljko Kopic. Cafarov, a proven starter with 31 appearances last season and a 70.2% save rate, is expected to join alongside recent signings Mamoudou Karamoko and Nikita Stoinov as Dinamo prepares for its Liga I opener on July 14. The arrival of Cafarov could lead to a loan move for current keeper Yanis Găgeatu, while new goalkeeper coach Mihai Năbădan, formerly of Neftchi and linked to Cafarov’s recommendation, will integrate the Azerbaijani shot-stopper into the squad. This transfer signals Dinamo’s intent to strengthen its defensive solidity and improve its standing in the Romanian top flight.
