The Romanian capital club, Dinamo București, has undergone significant changes in their transfer plans ahead of the upcoming season. Initially, the team was set to pursue the signing of Yusuf Maart, a 30-year-old South African midfielder currently plying his trade with SV Ried in the Austrian top flight.

However, with the departure of former head coach Zeljko Kopic and the subsequent appointment of Nuno Campos, Dinamo has seemingly lost interest in Maart’s services. According to South African journalist Ayabonga Mthembu, the club has retracted their pursuit of the midfielder, who was a favorite of Kopic.

Midfield Conundrum Looms Large

Dinamo’s decision to abandon their interest in Maart has left the club facing a midfield conundrum. With the departure of several key players in the transfer window, Dinamo is in dire need of reinforcements in the center of the park. The arrival of Ianis Doană, Adriano Manole, and Răzvan Radu has alleviated some concerns, but the club still needs to strengthen their midfield department.

Maart’s Suitors Still Keen on Signing

SV Ried, Maart’s current employers, are unwilling to let the midfielder go without a fight. With a year remaining on his contract, the Austrian club has an option to extend his stay, making it increasingly unlikely that Dinamo will secure his services.

Maart’s impressive resume, which includes stints with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, has made him a wanted man in Romanian football. A move to Dinamo would have seen him compete for a starting spot with Cătălin Cîrjan and Alberto Soro, but it appears that this transfer is now off the table.

Transfer Window Still Open

Despite the setback, Dinamo still has the opportunity to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes. With Martin Pascual expected to join the club, the Romanian outfit will be hoping to add more depth to their squad. However, the absence of the skilled Maart in their transfer plans will undoubtedly be a blow to their midfield aspirations.

As the transfer window reaches its climax, Dinamo will need to regroup and reassess their midfield options. With Siyabonga Ngezana already plying his trade in the Romanian top flight, the club may have to look elsewhere to find a suitable replacement for Maart.
