CSMS Iasi started the Liga 1 season with a victory at home, on “Emil Alexandrescu” Stadium. Although this is the match day 2, Iasi played their first match of the new season tonight against newly promoted Gaz Metan Medias. The match between FC Steaua and CSMS Iasi from previous match day has been postponed.

Iasi scored first in the 5th minute. After a corner kick, the ball gets to Alexnadru Tiganasu who shoots on the goals and scores. Gaz Metan replied half an hour later when Mircea Axente equalized from a similar position as Tiganasu.

The second half started with a great opportunity for Piccioni who bloofs just in front of the goal. Piccioni misses another good chance in the 66th minute. The goal for Iasi, finally came in the 81st minute when Bole shoots on target and Plesca can’t save it. Iasi took the lead 10 minutes before the final whistle. In extra time, Andrei Cristea puts his name on the scoresheet as well. Iasi’s no. 10 executes perfectly a free kick in the 91th minute and Iasi win their first 3 points in the new season.
