Romanian Liga2 started today with 55 goals scored in 9 matches and there still is one match to be played. The highest score was registered between CS Afumati (a newly promoted team) and Soimii Pancota: 16-0! The visitors had only 12 players and all of them were U16. Another interesting match has been played in Satu Mare where Olimpia scored 5 times against Metalul Resita. The interesting fact about this game is not the score but the exact number of players which Metalul had, 11! Among them, there were a lot of young players.

The derby of the first round played in Arad where UTA met CSM Ramnicu Valcea on home ground. It ended with a 2-2 draw. UTA Arad was one of the best teams in the previous seasons. They finished second, after Gaz Metan Medias and qualified for promotion Play-Offs. They reached the final after 3-0 loss and 4-0 win against Dunarea Calarasi. In the Play-Off final they met FC Voluntari but they lost it, returning to Liga2.

Probably the best match match of this round, or better say, the best half of it, was on Dan Paltinisanu Stadium where ASU Poli Timisoara, the supporters’ team, which started in the 5th tier just 5 years ago, had a great come back. After Chindia Targoviste scored 4 goals, ASU Poli was very closed to get a draw, but it ended with a 4-3 win for the visitors.

Promoted teams:
CS Afumati
ASU Poli Timisoara
Juventus Bucuresti
Sepsi OSK Sfantu Gheorghe

Metalul Resita relegated in the previous season but was eligible to play in Liga2 due to insufficient number of teams which registered. SC Bacau and FCM Baia Mare retired from Liga2 just before the start of the season.
