CFR Cluj has officially announced the signing of 18-year-old Romanian winger Lorenzo Biliboc from Juventus, marking a significant reinforcement ahead of the new season. The transfer comes shortly after CFR Cluj’s Supercup defeat to FCSB, underscoring the club’s intent to strengthen its squad promptly.
Biliboc, a product of Juventus’ esteemed youth academy, has consistently played above his age group and was a key figure for Juventus Primavera last season. He delivered notable performances both in the domestic youth league and the UEFA Youth League, contributing important goals for the Bianconeri’s youth side. His impressive displays earned him a step up to Juventus’ senior squad, where he trained under head coach Igor Tudor.
Internationally, Biliboc has represented Romania at the U17 level and is widely regarded as one of the most talented players of his generation in the country. His acquisition addresses CFR Cluj’s strategic need for young, high-potential players, particularly under the guidance of coach Dan Petrescu, who is tasked with challenging for the Superliga title once again.
According to Transfermarkt, Lorenzo Biliboc’s market value stands at approximately €225,000, reflecting his potential and youth pedigree. The player initially joined Juventus in 2020 from Torino’s academy for a modest fee of €8,000 and has also spent time on loan with Parma’s youth teams before advancing within Juventus’ ranks.
This transfer not only bolsters CFR Cluj’s attacking options on the wing but also adds depth to their U21 quota, which is crucial under league regulations. It signals the club’s ambition to blend youth with experience as they prepare for domestic and European challenges ahead.
