Astra Giurgiu draw West Ham United in the Europa League Play-Offs. The two sides met last year as well. Astra then qualified after a draw, 2-2 and a win, 2-1. The Hammers reached the play-off round after a 4-2 aggregate win over Slovenian team, Domzale. Astra lost against FC Copenhagen in the 3rd preliminary round of Champions League. Both Romanian teams will face English teams in the play-offs: Steaua vs. Manchester City in Champions League and Astra vs. West Ham in Europa League.
Astra and Steaua are the only remaining Romanian teams in the European Cups. CSM Poli Iasi, FC Viitorul Constanta and Pandurii Targu Jiu have been already eliminated.
