Alexandru Albu: Injury, Conflict, and Exit
FC Botoșani has parted ways with Alexandru Albu, a move that comes after a tumultuous period involving a physical altercation with teammate Andrei Miron during a training camp in Austria. Albu, who signed with Botoșani in January 2025, never played for the team due to eligibility issues stemming from previous stints with Al Hazem and Al Safa in Saudi Arabia. His contract expired on June 23, and he was dealing with health problems, specifically pubalgia.

The conflict with Miron, who was sanctioned by the club, reportedly began after a loss to Jablonec, leading to a heated confrontation in the team’s quarters. Albu was hospitalized with injuries sustained during the incident. Despite the altercation, both players reportedly reconciled.
Valeriu Iftime, the club’s patron, noted that Albu’s departure was due to health issues and not the conflict with Miron. Meanwhile, Botoșani is considering releasing French midfielder Hervin Ongenda due to his ongoing absence from training.
