Romanian top-flight club Rapid Bucharest has completed the signing of French striker Antoine Baroan, marking their third acquisition of the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old forward arrives from Swiss club FC Winterthur on a three-year contract, aiming to bolster Rapid’s attacking options ahead of the new season.

Baroan, a 1.88-meter tall striker, was signed by Winterthur approximately 18 months ago for a reported fee of €800,000 from Bulgarian outfit Botev Plovdiv. During his tenure in Bulgaria, he impressed with 27 goals and 13 assists in 74 appearances. In Switzerland, he featured in 36 matches, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists.

Upon his presentation at Rapid, Baroan expressed enthusiasm about joining a club with a rich history and passionate fanbase. “I am very happy to play for Rapid. I’ve seen the incredible atmosphere at home games online and I am eager to play at Giulești and give my all for the team,” he said.

Financial details reveal that Baroan will receive a signing bonus close to €100,000 along with a monthly salary of approximately €20,000. His market value stands around €800,000, reflecting his potential impact in Romania’s Liga I.

Alongside Baroan, Rapid has also added defender Kramer and winger Hazrollaj this summer, signaling a clear intent to strengthen the squad. The club is still on the lookout for a creative midfielder to fill the number 10 role, especially if midfielder Borza departs.

This strategic recruitment under coach Costel Gâlcă aims to enhance Rapid’s competitiveness domestically and in European competitions. Baroan’s physical presence and goal-scoring record could prove vital in the club’s ambitions to challenge the Liga I elite.
