Hermannstadt is gearing up for the new season with ambitious plans under the leadership of Marius Măldărășanu, aiming to secure a spot in the play-offs. However, the team might face setbacks due to potential departures of key players. Ianis Stoica and Tiago Goncalves are attracting interest from foreign clubs, complicating Hermannstadt’s efforts to retain them. Claudiu Rotar, the club’s financier, noted that only a few Romanian clubs, such as CFR, FCSB, Universitatea Craiova, and Rapid, have the financial muscle to compete with foreign offers.
On another note, Nana Antwi will continue his loan spell at Hermannstadt for another season. After his loan expired, FCSB decided not to include him in their squad for the upcoming season, and he will now split his salary with Hermannstadt 50/50.
The retention of key players will be crucial for Hermannstadt’s play-off hopes.
