The club’s financier Mihai Rotaru confirmed the transfer is imminent, with only the official announcement remaining pending.

Al-Hamlawi, who played 16 matches and scored seven goals in the 2024/2025 season for Śląsk Wrocław, joins a team already bolstered by several summer signings including defenders Oleksandr Romanchuk and Nikola Stevanovic, as well as midfielders Alexandru Crețu, Tudor Băluță, Samuel Teles, David Matei, Luca Băsceanu, and Mihnea Rădulescu. Rotaru expressed confidence that Al-Hamlawi will be a pivotal figure for Craiova this season, emphasizing the club’s ambition to compete for the Liga I title with a well-rounded squad featuring key players such as Anzor, Cicâldau, and Lyes Houri.

The forward’s move follows his departure from Śląsk Wrocław, a club relegated to Poland’s second division, where contractually he was tied until 2027. His transfer was reportedly influenced by psychological and stress-related factors and facilitated through contacts including Tudor Băluță, a former Śląsk player now at Craiova. Valued at around one million euros by Transfermarkt, Al-Hamlawi also brings international experience with two caps for the Palestine national team.

This strategic signing addresses a critical need for attacking reinforcements, with coach Mirel Rădoi having recently urged the club’s management to expedite the recruitment of quality forwards to enhance tactical and physical preparations ahead of the new campaign.
